A while back Karen and Lila Thorn went to a fundraiser of some sort and bid on a private autograph signing with the players. Today was the day that everyone could hardly wait for! The girls have been so excited all week, asking everyday when we were going.
To back up a little, last season we(the girls and I) took a liking to JB Tucker, the catcher. He is awesome and pretty easy on the eyes too. The girls always ask if Tucker is going to be there, is he going to play, will he throw us a ball.....lots of Tucker talk when the topic of the Airhogs comes up. They also start to turn all shades of red when someone asks them about him! It is so funny and they are so smitten! It is cute!
So of course when they found out that they were going to go to the private autographing session with the players, Tucker was again the focus! The girls decided to get picture frame mats for the players to sign. We thought that was better than a t-shirt they would outgrow. Also, since Makinley has her own catcher's gear, and Tucker is the catcher, it only made since for her to take her chest protector and get him to sign that too! Very cool!
So we got to go to the visitors locker room and all of the players filed through and signed everything we had piled onto the table. Morgan was shy at first and didn't want to even look at any of them, but Makinley did pretty well at being social. The players were all very nice and we got to talk to all of them, but let's be honest, my 2 girls were there to see one person! Once he walked in I'm sure that all the others players figured that out! They continued to sign the frames and Karen and Lila's jerseys, while Tucker signed the frames, the jersey's, the catcher's gear, and took pictures with both of the girls! If he was overwhelmed, he never showed it. He was so nice to do whatever the girls wanted. Morgan finally came around and took her picture with him and was so happy.
Once we were finished we walked down to sit in our seats and talk for a few minutes. All of the other season ticket holders were now there, walking the park and getting their tickets, and the players began to emerge to sign things for everyone. We talked with Pete Incaviglia for a while and he told the girls that Tuckers nickname was "Diesel". As we sat and talked, Morgan saw Tucker and she and Makinley wanted to go ask him if that was really his nickname. So they walked across the stands and talked to him again. Then all of a sudden here comes Makinley, Morgan, and Tucker! They brought him back with them! Morgan had decided that she needed another picture with him on the dugout, with the field behind them now that he had his jersey on! He came happily trotting down the stairs with her and took more pictures.

What a fun memorable day for the girls! Before we left, Lila bought the girls new Airhog t-shirts so that we can print their pictures with Tucker and iron them on the back! They can't wait! Karen mentioned on the way home that tomorrow night is an exhibition game... so I guess tomorrow afternoon I will be making some shirts!

Hi everyone,
Looks like they (the girls) had a lot of fun and made a lot of friends. If they were a little older they would really be in love with the players. Leigh Ann I really enjoy your blog and I think you should write a book. You make it so interesting. Give Corey a big kiss and the girls a hug and a kiss. Love you, Nana
