11 Years...A Good Run at It!

Well, Saturday was our 11 year wedding anniversary! Doesn't seem like we could be that old! I'm sure we don't look it:)
We decided to go on a road trip with our friends Stacy and Wendy to Winstar for the weekend. Corey found a very remote place called The River of Love Cabins, for us to stay. We left on Friday night about 7:00pm. The River of Love Cabins were so remote that the fact that it had rained all day didn't help when we got there! The owner, Kelly met us to take us to each cabin. Stacy and Wendy's cabin, The Redbud, was a log cabin with lots of room and a king size bed. It was very cute and cozy. All of the cabins had their own private hot tub too! Very Cool!

Next Kelly led us to our place, The Love Train Caboose! We were the first to ever get to stay in the caboose. Apparently, we were the first to ever have to GET to the caboose in a rain storm too! The "road" to the caboose was a mud slid. Kelly floored her Tahoe and fishtailed all the way to the top. We, on the other hand, had to make numerous attempts, and thought that we might have to join Stacy and Wendy in the Redbud. However, just in time Kelly jumped out and in the most southern voice told Corey, "Back own up to the gate and getcha good run at it". (This became the quote for everything for the weekend!) Corey rolled up the window and we all fell out laughing! However, Corey followed her instruction and up we went!
The Caboose was very cool, however, there isn't a whole lot of room in a train car for a bed, so we got a full size futon! Not what we are used to, but still very cozy!

Once we were settled in we took off for Winstar and had dinner. Saturday we did some hiking around the creek and played some games until we had to get ready for the Clint Black concert at Winstar. Clint was great, not such a fancy auditorium, but a good, old fashioned concert. We could even walk right up to the stage and take pictures! We finished the night with a game of Cranium back at the Redbud.

Sunday we had breakfast together and then headed home.
We had so much fun this weekend. We have only gotten to go away for our anniversary once before. (We went to Winstar but got up at 6:00 in the morning to come home and welcome my nephew, Clayton into the world!) We enjoyed the laughter, the stories and just the relaxing feeling that comes with getting away! What a fabulous weekend full of love, friends, and memories! Here's to many more!!!! Love you babe!
