The River of Love

A few years back we found some cabins in Oklahoma called the River of Love Cabins. There are only 3 cabins on the entire property and while they are in walking distance, they are very private. Each one has its own hot tub, grill, fire pit, and plenty of space for a romantic weekend:)
Last time we went with the Bryant's so it only seemed natural to go together again! We left on a Friday night and stayed until Sunday. Friday night we got there kind of late but had time for hot dogs and a few games of Joker.
Saturday, the guys had to run some errands, so they ended up going to the Fried pie store in Gainsville and brought back every pie they had I think! So we had a light lunch and LOTS of pie! After lunch we decided to hike down by the Red River. It was less then a mile from our cabins to walk but we decided to drive since you never know what you will bump into in the woods! (Too much Billy the Exterminator!) We pulled over in a mowed field to park and still had a ways to walk. Once we got close, we picked up a friend....

River Dog

He was a great tour guide and led us right to the river:) He was filthy dirty but really liked being with us. It was hard to keep him out of the pictures! He followed us all the way back to the car and watched us pull away sadly!
Once we were done at the river, we drove to Lake Murray and walked around the Marina for a while. They have a beautiful lake and there are TONS of huge houseboats, which now gives us the bug to rent one of those for a few days!

After stopping to buy some fireworks, we headed back to the cabins for dinner. We had steaks, mashed potatoes, grilled corn and salad. It was awesome! The guys did a great job grilling while Wendy and I played washers!

Keep in mind, this is kind of like camping for us....no make-up or hair is done on this trip!
And this is the guys having to get the washer that rolled down into the creek! Whoops!

We ended the night with hot tub time and then a game of Cranium, which the girls won! (Notice I didn't say who won the Joker game;))

Sunday we were in no rush to get up or go home! We slept late and then packed up and headed for Cracker Barrel for "brunch".
What a fun weekend with our friends! We learned a lot about friends on this trip. We can't say enough about how much fun we have with Wendy and Stacy! They are so much like family that everything is very relaxed with them. No one is in a hurry, no one cares if there is a plan, and all of us care about each other more than ourselves. We could never have a better set of friends that matched perfectly for Corey and I both!
