Easter is always a fun day. Everyone gets new church clothes, new sandals, and tons of candy! But let's not forget what we were all offered on Easter, the resurrection of Christ, who was sacrificed so that we can live eternally! What an unbelievable thing to consider when I look at my own children, and know that God gave up His own Son for all of us who didn't deserve it. Wow! What else is there to say?
This year Easter was very special in that it was the last holiday spent at my Mamaw's house. She has since moved to Holly Lake Ranch to be closer to my mom and my aunt. It's a smart move, she has fallen a few times, and it causes lots of concern and panic. So we decided to have one last hoo-rah before she pulled out of town. I have tons of memories of holidays at my Mamaw and Papaw's house. Most of them include watermelon slices, croquet, baby frogs, and lots of stickerburs! We spent many holidays on their backyard playing games and eating together. This last day together was no different. We played ladderball, threw the football, and had an Easter egg hunt. The kids all had a picnic out on the patio and laughed as they spent time together.
These memories, from Mamaw and Papaw's house, along with SO many others, I will carry with me always. Easter was a good day, for us, and for Mamaw.
